Did you look for reviews online on a particular digital camera model before you made your purchase?

Normally i will shop it in few outlets or concept stores, so that i can have some touch and feel on the model that I’m buying. Then will will find for some reviews online to know the pros and cons for this particular model. Currently i have 2 digital cameras with me (one Canon Powershot A60 – 2 Megapixels and one Panasonic Lumix FX01 – 6 Megapixels). I have to admit that Lumix FX01 have a better resolutions and ISO level, however the noise increase as the ISO level increase. So you really need to have better understanding what’s you requirements for your digital cameras. Whether you need a compact or the one with a better zoom ability or even the higher ISO Sensitivity Level for night shoots. When i shop for my FX01, wide angle shooting (28mm) features in a compact digital camera is my main requirement.

My nephew stay with us during the last Raya School Holiday and he brought his Sony PSP along with him. I have been addicted to this game called the Untold Legends. It’s really a time killer machine to me. I spent most of my weekend holidays with his PSP…

That’s why i said, Games is always my time killer…now i felt a bit guilty on playing too much games…

What will you do if you are actively looking for an digital camera?

For me, i will go to the nearest local concept stores to have some feel and touch on the model that I’m looking for. Then i will start to do a price comparison with a few local stores also compare the prices online (price comparison is always our rights as a consumer, right?).

I have been looking for a Canon PowerShot S3 IS digital camera online and found that there are a wide range of selections provided in this online shopping website. The features i like the most on this digital camera is its ‘super zoom’. This 6-megapixel camera features the same 12x optical zoom but boosts the sensitivity range up to ISO 800. It also comes with a 2 inch vari-angle screen.

In Shopping.com I’m able to compare its price range from 23 online stores. This product is rated 4.5 out of 5. It has very good rating on its ease of use, durability, battery life as well as photo quality.

Canon is always one of my choice of digital camera products, how about you? Do you shop online for digital cameras?

I bought myself a 2GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro for RM62 from PIKOM PC Fair yesterday. The main purpose i bought this flash drive is to try out the ReadyBoost feature that come together with Windows Vista.

If you are not sure about this Vista’s feature, here are the explanation that you can find in Microsoft’s website:

Windows ReadyBoost introduces a new concept in add-on system memory. You can use nonvolatile flash memory devices, such as universal serial bus (USB) flash drives, to improve performance without having to add memory “under the hood.” The flash memory device serves as an additional memory cache—that is, memory that the computer can access much more quickly than it can access data on the hard disk drive.

Please note that not all flash memory devices (flash drives, SD memory cards) are able to use as ReadyBoost.
I’m unable to use my 2GB Apacer SD card (for my digital camera) for this purpose. The minimum requirements for ReadyBoost is 2.5MB/sec. The sales person told me that this SanDisk that i bought is 5MB/sec. The best practice is to confirm with the sales person that the flash drive is ReadyBoost ready before your purchase.

Once you plug in your USB drive into your computer, a screen will prompt for you to choose weather you want to open it with your explorer or use it as ReadyBoost. If you missed that screen, it will never been too late, you can still right click on your removable disk properties and open the “ReadyBoost” tab.

From here, you will able to choose weather you want to use this drive as ReadyBoost, and you can always set the space to reserve for system speed. And yes, your are done with your Vista’s ReadyBoost.

I really feel that the amount of time it took to load a program ready reduce significantly with ReadyBoost. It’s a cheaper yet affordable way to improve your Vista performance other then physical memory upgrade.

A brilliant idea from Japan, Clarion Drive Eye will record car crashes automatically. It senses emergency brake and starts to capture video before, during and after an accident occurred. What it needs is just to mounts the little camera on your car’s wind shield and it will do it’s job automatically.
