I bought my first house 2 years ago. Property buying and selling it really involves a lot of legal documents and no doubt a real estate agent will really help in this case, especially for the first time buyer/seller.
If you are interested to engage a real estate representative, i strongly recommend you to go for those agent with a good reputation in the industry. Ask around your friends and family members for their recommendation.
Remember to check for some of the brief history (especially criminal cases) on the previous property owner and the environment of the surrounding area (is it a flood area) before you made any down payment or purchase. A good real estate agent that you can trust will let you to have a total peace of mind in this case.
